Socks march on

One down and a toe to go. There are flaws here but what I'm really thinking about is how much I love to turn a heel. Oh my, I think I've become one of the sock people!

You LOVE turning a heel?? Hmmm, I've just turned a heel going toe-up, and there's no way I would have figured it out without instructions. Going toe-up, you don't have to pick up stitches and also you can knit up the leg until the yarn runs out so you use it all up.

Depending what shape foot you have you either need a gusset or you don't and you don't really think about that until you've worn your first pair. You can have a gusset or not whether you knit from the cuff or the toe because there are more heels out there than you can shake a stick at. The fun is finding the right one for the foot you're knitting for.

I look quite normal but I am one of the sock people. You too will be assimilated.......

Uh oh. It's dangerous, I swear. I've spent about two hundred dollars on sock yarn in the last two months...
